Summer has a particular kind of noise, doesn’t it? There are the good noises — children laughing, lawn mowers at golden hour, the easy rhythm of a slow afternoon. But summer also has its hiding‑place noises. The calendar fills before we think to stop it. The busyness becomes its own kind of armor. And the things we’ve been quietly tucking away in the in‑between seasons — the grief we haven’t named, the wound we keep stepping around, the question we are a little afraid to ask God — those things get even more hidden in the long, loud, bright days of July.
